The new £10 million St Nicholas' Primary School in Bearsden has been officially completed, after the final external works were delivered.
Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure built a MUGA (multi-use games area) pitch, a playchip area with climbing tree, basketball court, a cycle proficiency area and a brand new trim trail on the site.
This announcement follows on from the handover of the school building in August 2018. It was built on the old site of St Andrew's Primary on Duntocher Road, enabling the co-location of the former school and St Joseph's Primary, in nearby Milngavie.
Stuart Parker, Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure's managing director for Construction in Scotland, said: "Since delivering the main building last year it's been fantastic to see everyone settled and thriving in their new modern surroundings. Providing safe and engaging environments for children to enjoy physical activity is key to driving up educational attainment, and supporting healthy lifestyles.
"This new play area will only further pupils' ability to succeed, both in and out of the classroom; and we'd like to thank everyone involved for their ongoing collaborative efforts in making this project such a success."
The project was delivered on behalf of hub West Scotland for long-standing customer, East Dunbartonshire Council.
Iain Marley, Chief Executive, hub West Scotland added: "The external elements complete the creation of an inspiring and high quality learning environment and we are thrilled that pupils and staff have adapted to the new environment and are deriving so many benefits from the investment.
"We are grateful for the outstanding work done by the client team and the hub West partnership team supply chain partners whose talents, hard work and collaboration led to this success."
