East Dunbartonshire Council has invested more than £4.5 million in the construction of three new early years facilities in Bearsden, Kirkintilloch and Milngavie.
The new centres will create places for 272 children and improve access to services for families as the Council prepares to deliver on the Scottish Government pledge to increase early learning and childcare hours for every child from 600 to 1140 hours annually.
Information sessions are being run this month and it is hoped local people will take up the opportunity to go along and find out more.
Joint Leader, Councillor Vaughan Moody, said: "I'd encourage people interested in the changes that are happening in early learning and childcare to attend one of these sessions to find out what is happening locally. These are important developments which represent a significant investment in the future of our young people."
Joint Leader, Councillor Andrew Polson, added: "These events are designed to inform local communities about the planned developments and officers will be on hand to answer any questions. The landscape around early learning and childcare is changing so these sessions will enable local people to better understand what is happening."
The development sites are:
• The former Brookwood Library in Bearsden which will provide places for up to 88 children.
• Land across from Kirkintilloch Police Office at Southbank Marina. This will provide places for up to 96 children.
• The former St Joseph's Primary in Milngavie which will provide places for up to 88 children.
