The Royal BAM Group has announced a plan to plant some 150,000 new trees across the world to mark the firms 150th anniversary.
Started as a small family carpentry businesses in May 1869, BAM grown into a major European built environment businesses, employing 20,000 people and with a turnover of around €7 billion worldwide.
Working in partnership with Trees For All, BAM will plant 100,000 trees in Bolivia and Uganda, while the remaining 50,000 will shared between its ten European operating companies.
Royal BAM Group has been listed on the Euronext Amsterdam since 1959. Two of its operating companies are based in the UK: BAM Construct UK, which has an annual turnover of around one billion pounds and employs 2,500 people in construction and property services, and BAM Nuttall that has a turnover of around £700m and employees 3,000 people in civil engineering and infrastructure.
