The John Wood Group (Wood) has been appointed to provide construction and project management services to Discovery DJ Services across a multi-phase installation of an oil & gas gathering system, and natural gas and liquid processing facility in the Niobrara shale region (DJ Basin) of Colorado.
The multi-million dollar project includes the recently completed project management, fabrication and construction of approximately 60 miles of 12-inch and 8-inch pipeline for the gathering system. In addition to the pipeline infrastructure installed, Wood was awarded consecutive contracts to provide construction and project management services to support the multi-phase installation of the processing facility. This midstream system is expected to be fully online before year end with capacity to process 60 million cubic feet per day.
Robin Watson, Wood's chief executive said: "This is Discovery DJ Services' first gas plant in Colorado, and we are committed to leveraging our differentiated onshore US footprint and long track record of project delivery, to successfully support this key asset. Our experience with onshore facilities is unparalleled across the industry and will help to ensure the project is delivered safely and efficiently."
Cory Jordan, chief operating officer of Discovery DJ Services, complimented the services provided by Wood across both facilities and pipelines, stating: "The dedication and value added by Wood to our projects in the DJ Basin have been key to our success during this initial phase of construction."
