The former CAB office at 103 Academy Street in Inverness has been converted into four 1 bedroom flats for rent, the Highland Council has announced.
The project was developed by ARK Estates and WGC Scotland was the main contractor.
The Council remains on track to provide much-needed affordable homes. Members of the Environment, Development and Infrastructure Committee earlier this month approved the Council’s Strategic Housing Investment Plan for 2019-2024 that will see a minimum of 500 units being built each year of which 70% will be for affordable rent and 30% for low cost home ownership.
The Vice Chair of the Environment, Development and Infrastructure Committee, Cllr Trish Robertson was shown around the flats by the Council’s Housing Development Officer Paula MacPherson.
After the visit she said: "It is amazing to see the transformation and I am delighted that the former CAB office has been given a new lease of life. All four flats are unique and finished to a very high spec. They are going to make wonderful homes for people right in the city centre with easy access to all the nearby shops and facilities."
This development is part of the wider regeneration of Academy Street and comes after the announcement made earlier this week that work to create 37 flats and 4 retail units at the former Farm foods building has started. 23 of the residential properties will be for rent from The Highland Council and the remaining 14 will be mid-market homes for the Highland Housing Alliance.
