Arc-Tech Completes M&E Service Installation

Arc-Tech has completed a specialist contract in Edinburgh with the delivery of a specialist service solution for a new waste transfer centre on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council.

Located north of the city centre, the Seafield Depot Phase 2 project was completed this autumn and included the installation of water services, above ground drainage, a water mist system and ventilation as well as fire and security systems, containment and lightning protection.

The project, accommodates garden waste, dry mixed recycling, mixed glass and mechanical sweepings waste streams, will help service a further new waste treatment centre at Millerhill, Dalkeith, which is to become operational in 2019.

Transport and Environment Convener, Councillor Lesley Macinnes, said: "I am delighted to see the completion of this new waste transfer station at Seafield, which will enhance our waste and cleansing service by providing an efficient, reliable facility. These improvements will be further realised when our new Energy from Waste facility at Millerhill becomes operational next year."

John Gallacher, managing director of Arc-Tech, said: "Working alongside the main contractor, our specialist team has delivered an outstanding level of installation and I am delighted that we can use this experience for expanding our operations in this sector moving forward.
