The Leader of Glasgow City Council, Councillor Susan Aitken returned to the south side of Glasgow to see how work is progressing on the brand new 156 home Riverford Gardens in Pollokshaws.
CCG (Scotland) Ltd is delivering the project through the private housing arm of the construction group called CCG Homes and have been on site since March 2018.
Due for completion in January 2020, Riverford Gardens will offer a range of luxury properties in a highly-desirable riverside location with views across the White Cart River and Auldhouse Park, private parking and access to a broad range of local amenities and transport links.
Councillor Aitken first visited the site in June 2018. Since then, 22 homes, which are created 'off-site' in CCG's manufacturing facility, have been constructed and a large number of the properties have been reserved.
Cllr Susan Aitken, leader of Glasgow City Council and city convener for inclusive economic growth, said: "It is great to see so much progress since I last visited Riverford Gardens. The homes are really taking shape and are getting a great response from prospective buyers.
"This development is playing a significant role in the ongoing regeneration of Pollokshaws – offering new homes in an area with great amenities, green space and links to the city centre.
"Glasgow is determined to play its role in delivering more homes across a mix of tenures, to promote regeneration and help support and drive the regional economy through house building. I'm delighted that CCG, with its own commitment to innovation and quality, is helping us achieve that."
Alastair Wylie, Chairman and CEO of CCG, said: "It was a pleasure to welcome Councillor Aitken back to Riverford Gardens to allow her to see how our work is progressing as well as meeting some of our trade apprentices.
"Riverford Gardens is a flagship development for our CCG Homes brand and with such an exclusive location, it is no surprise that the luxury homes on offer are under high demand with our sales return being very positive since our launch in September.
"We feel that the range of house types on offer covers a broad demographic homebuyer demographic and look forward to having our first residents in place in early 2019."
