A series of events have been staged focusing particularly on housing options for young people to support Scottish Housing Day.
As this is the Year of Young People (YOYP) the housing day events focused particularly on housing options for young people in the communities as well as as raising awareness of the latest developments in housing.
Members of the council's housing team also arranged some fundraising activities with more than £1,200 collected for Who Cares? Scotland - the national charity, working with, and advocating for, care experienced children and young people.
The charity's Ewen, Andrew and Sharon met with the Housing Services teams and also visited a South Lanarkshire flat set up to give young people some experience of what living independently is like. At the same time it helps them plan for and make decisions about their future housing options and finding a home that's right for them.
Advocacy worker Ewen Kerr said: "We are grateful to South Lanarkshire for raising money for our charity. It's greatly appreciated by everyone at our organisation and will help benefit care experienced young people."
Annette Finnan, Head of the council's Housing, praised the efforts of the teams and highlighted the importance of working with partners such as Who Cares? Scotland.
She said: "Last year for Scottish Housing Day we fundraised to support local food banks and I'm delighted that once again our teams have been outstanding in raising more than £1200 this year.
"Who Cares? Scotland provides advocacy support for some of our most vulnerable children and young people. We work closely with them to ensure we can provide housing options and support that helps young people find suitable and settled homes."
