Finishing works are to commence on the Charleston slip road in Aberdeen as part of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route/Balmedie to Tipperty (AWPR/B-T) project.

The contractor will close the A90 to A956 slip road to complete the work from 27 - 30 July.

Diversions will be put in place and clearly signposted.

A Transport Scotland spokesperson said: "These works are taking place during the school summer holiday period and while we are expecting the level of traffic travelling northbound to be quieter than usual, we suggest that drivers plan their journey in advance and leave earlier to ensure they can reach their destination safely and on time. We would also like to remind all road users to observe all signage and drive with caution.


"The contractor has been working closely with Police Scotland and the local authority to ensure that road users have an alternative route available to them whilst this slip road is closed, while maintaining the safety of road users and road workers."

The AWPR/B-T project involves the construction of a 58km long road consisting of four sections. It is expected to open in autumn 2018.
