Robertson is to commence work on the refurbishment of several areas within the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh.
Following the appointment of RMF Health, a consortium consisting of Robertson and FES, the work will see Haematology and Oncology areas extended and redeveloped. A new renal unit will also be created.
Anna Daley, framework manager, RMF Health, said: "Robertson has a great deal of experience in the healthcare sector, from delivering a brand new hospital in Orkney to creating the Stirling Health and Care Village. That expertise will be relied upon to deliver a best in class project at the Western General Hospital, one which will lead to significant benefits to staff and patients alike."
Chris Stirling, Site Director for the Western General Hospital, added: "We are excited to be moving forward with these projects to improve the physical environment for our patients to enhance their treatment. NHS Lothian has committed to the long term future of the Cancer Centre on the Western General Hospital. The works to refurbish Oncology and Haematology services, along with creating a new Renal dialysis unit, will give our patients and staff the clinical space they deserve. It is fitting that we are celebrating our 150th anniversary at the Western General site and working to continue to make improvements for the future."
The £27m project is due to be completed in the second quarter of 2021.
