Transport Scotland has revealed the new Balmedie Link Road will open to traffic on Thursday, 14 June.
The new route, part of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route/Balmedie to Tipperty (AWPR/B-T) project, will allow motorists to access residences and business on the existing A90 from the new Balmedie Junction via Balmedie village.
The road will open from 6am on 14 June. Following the opening, it is anticipated that the A975 Newburgh Road/existing A90 Junction at Rashiereive will close for seven days from 6am onc14 June until 6am on Wednesday, 20 June. This closure is necessary to allow the contractor to safely complete the new section of the A975 at its new tie-in with the existing A90.
A Transport Scotland spokesperson said: "While these works are on-going, signage will be in place to inform road users of the changes to road layout. This signage should be observed to ensure their own safety, the safety of other road users and also road workers.
"We would suggest that road users consider this closure before they start their journeys to ensure they can reach their destination safely and on time.
"Once this closure is complete, road users will be able to use the A975 Newburgh Road via the new Newburgh Junction and existing A90 to access local residences and businesses.
"We would like to thank road users and the local community for their continued patience while these major infrastructure works are on-going."
