Morrison Construction has held two 'meet the team' events for residents to learn more about the construction of the £68 million Barony Campus in Cumnock.
The events, which took place at the Boswell Centre, Auchinleck and Cumnock Rugby Club, introduced the site team and explained to attendees what will be happening with the construction process over the coming months.
Morrison Construction's Project Manager, David Wright, and Construction Manager, Brian Linden, were on hand to answer any questions and address concerns raised by the public about the planned works.
During the event, visitors could view view 3D models of the development as well as detailed floor plans for each of the buildings. In addition, those who attended had the opportunity to discuss the design of the facilities, including the internal and external layouts, with representatives from the Design Team, Sheppard Robson, and East Ayrshire Council's Education Programme Team.
Works at the construction site start at the end of April, with Morrison starting to prepare the Broomfield site for the construction. The new campus is expected to open in August 2020.
Once finished, it will incorporate the Robert Burns Academy, Lochnorris Primary School, Cherry Trees Early Childhood Centre and Hillside ASN School, providing state-of-the-art facilities for children, young people and members of the local community.
Cllr Douglas Reid said: "It's great to see works getting underway on what is one of our most ambitious capital projects to date.
"Understandably local people will be curious about a development of this scale but hopefully they will have made the most of this opportunity to come along and speak to the team leading the project and put their minds at rest."
