The civil engineering firm will begin widening the Culloden Road's approach to Inshes Roundabout east of Inverness on 21 May.
By adding an additional westbound lane for city centre traffic, the scheme will provide two continuous lanes for traffic between the Inverness Campus junction and Inshes Roundabout.

The project is expected to take 22 weeks to complete.
Garry Smith, Highland Council's Principal Engineer, said: "We are aware of the sensitivity of this arterial route into the city and the provision of an additional lane will ease the flow of traffic into Inverness from the east.
"The pinch point on the A9 over bridge where traffic currently merges into one city-bound lane leads to driver frustration. The scheme seeks to remove this pinch point from the network."
