Work is to begin on a road resurfacing project on the A75 in Dumfries and Galloway.
Scotland TranServ will start repairing 915 metres of the route at Hardrigg Lodge near Annan from Friday, 18 May.
In order to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible, the company said it will be necessary to close the carriageway weekday overnights and at weekends, keeping disruption to a minimum.
Traffic management will be in place during the following times;
• 7pm on Friday 18 May to 6am on Monday 21 May
• 7pm to 6am each weekday overnight from Monday 21 May to Thursday 24 May
• 7pm Friday 25 May to 6am Monday 28 May
Alan Murray, Scotland TranServ's Principal Road Design Engineer, said: "We've been working with local authorities and key stakeholders to schedule this programme of work to be delivered with as little disruption on the local community and businesses as possible. We've programmed the works to be carried out ahead of the busy holiday season with an increase in tourist traffic heading to and from the busy ferry port.
"The length and depth of resurfacing required make it necessary to work weekday overnights and over the two weekends. A local diversion will be clearly signposted throughout."
Scotland TranServ added Stapleton Road Junction will be closed for the duration of the works. Special arrangements will be made for emergency service vehicles, however no additional arrangements have been made for windfarm traffic.
