Work is continuing to build 35 flats in the Kinning Park area of Glasgow.
CCG is delivering the Admiral Street scheme on behalf of Southside Housing Association and work is scheduled for completion in November-2018.
The scheme is the first development of its kind for CCG to utilise a hybrid solution of CCG's off-site manufactured closed panel timber frame system and Cross Laminated Timber (CLT). CLT wall and floor panels will be used as the primary construction material for the common areas of the build (lobbies, lift shaft and stair cores) and CCG's off-site manufactured iQ system will be utilised for the superstructure construction to the flatted sections.
Alastair Wylie, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CCG, said: "We are delighted to be working with Southside Housing Association at Admiral Street, a development that will bring much needed affordable homes to a busy area of Glasgow. It is a landmark project for the CCG Group as it represents the first time a hybrid solution of our own off-site manufactured timber frame system and Cross Laminated Timber has been used on one of our sites.
"CCG has performed extensive research into the applied use of CLT and how the material can be used in tandem with our existing off-site product. We already offer enhanced speed of construction and environmental efficiency through the use of our closed panel timber system so we are looking forward to understanding how a hybrid solution can further improve on these at site-level."
