ENGIE has been appointed to carry out £1.6 million of improvement works on more than 170 homes in Glasgow.
A total of 173 properties on London Road will be upgraded for Thenue Housing Association and completion is scheduled for early 2019.
With work already underway, features will include the installation of external wall insulation, as well as renewed guttering, pipes and roof repairs. Common areas will also benefit from thoughtful upgrades while home security will be further enhanced with improvements to screens, windows and doors, new external lighting, and new controlled door entry systems.
ENGIE has also confirmed the work will be carried out with residents in situ. A decided resident liaison team will be on-hand throughout the duration of the project, to answer any concerns or queries; while keeping households up to date on progress.
Alan Burton, Regional Construction Director for ENGIE, said: "These are significant upgrades which will enrich the lives of Thenue's customers, providing them with warmer and safer homes. We have extensive experience of completing similar projects and can reassure residents that disruption will be kept to a minimum.
"Thenue HA is one of our first framework partnerships in Scotland and it is absolutely fabulous to be working with them on such important transformational projects."
A spokesperson for Thenue said: "This is an important step forward in improving housing which will bring real benefits to the people living there. Thenue has a long history of working together with Glasgow City Council and the Scottish Government to deliver both new and improved homes and we greatly welcome the work which is being carried out."
Cllr Kenny McLean added: "This is marvellous news for all those living in these homes on London Road. This fantastic project will bring lower energy bills, improved security and a better environment for everyone living there."
