Contractor George Leslie has started carrying out emergency repair works to a sewer in East Kilbride.

The two-week scheme involves repairing a collapsed sewer beneath the petrol station tower off Old Coach Road.

To carry out the scheme safely, some road traffic management will be in place during the cours of the works.


Scottish Water stated: "Water supply should not be affected whilst repair work is under way; however, temporary road restrictions for short times throughout the two week period will be necessary for some of the work that needs to be carried out.

"During those two weeks, a stretch of the carriageway will be reduced from two lanes to one for short periods on alternate days, with manually operated traffic lights in place to minimise any disruption. Any road traffic management will be lifted as quickly as possible after the repair work has been completed."
