Inverness Residents Warned To Stay Alert Against Doorstep Callers

Inverness residents are being urged to stay vigilant following reports of bogus workmen operating in the Kinmylies area.

Police Scotland said they have received reports within the last week of cold callers offering gardening services and household goods for sale to residents.

Constable Allan Cameron said: "Please be mindful of people cold calling you and offering services , goods or household items for sale. If the price appears too good to be true this is likely for good reason.

"Any work carried out by such individuals may prove to be substandard, goods may not meet safety requirements or may even prove to be stolen.

"As always, I would appeal for anyone with information about bogus workmen or suspicious people to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference NN4916/18, or via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous."
