Upgrade Work To Begin On A82 Leven Bridge

Upgrade work is to be carried out on the A82 Leven Bridge in Dunbartonshire.

Scotland TranServ will start delivering waterproofing and resurfacing work on the structure from Monday, 05 March until the end of April. Traffic management will be in place.

The two-phase programme will break between 30 March – 03 April over the Easter Holiday weekend.

Brian Laurie, Scotland TranServ's Network Bridges Engineer said: "Following investigations, issues with the waterproofing course of the Leven Bridge were identified as causing defects on the A82 road surface. In liaison with Police Scotland, local authorities and key stakeholders a waterproofing and resurfacing programme has been scheduled to deliver a solution to these surface defects.

"A significant programme of work is required to address the issue. We will be working around the clock to deliver this waterproofing and resurfacing works, however, we need favourable weather conditions in order to complete the project on schedule. Particular attention has been paid to meet the needs of those heading to and from Loch Lomond over the Easter Weekend, and the work has therefore been split into phases."
