Residents in the Highlands are invited to submit their views over two new major planning documents.
A consultation has been launched for both the draft Inverness East Development Brief and the draft Developer Contributions Supplementary Guidance.
The Inverness Brief sets out plans for developers to build up to 3,000 new homes for Inverness, along with local facilities such as parks, shops and community and employment uses woven together by a network of high quality streets for walking and cycling.
The draft Developer Contributions Supplementary Guidance sets out how much developers will be asked to pay to offset the impacts of their development proposals on infrastructure like schools, parks, roads and sports facilities.
A series of public exhibitions for the draft Inverness East Development Brief will take place on;
• Tuesday, 23 January 2 –7 pm at Smithton-Culloden Free Church
• Wednesday, 24 January 2 – 7 pm at Tesco Extra, Inverness Retail and Business Park
• Thursday, 01 February 12 – 5 pm Inverness College UHI
Both documents are also available for comment online at consult.highland.gov.uk until Friday, 09 March.
Cllr Allan Henderson said: "Through this consultation Highland Council is continuing to engage with the communities in the East of Inverness to ensure that this major urban expansion area is developed correctly."
Provost of Inverness and Area, Cllr Helen Carmichael, added: "The online consultation makes it easy for people to tell planning officers what they think and I encourage people to have their say on how this area is developed. Come and speak to the Development Planning Team at any of the exhibitions."
