Astrak UK has completed the acquisition of the undercarriage parts division of Southern Plant Spares (SPS).

The bucket and attachment division has now been renamed as Rhinox Group and will be taken forward by the original directors of SPS.

As a well-respected supplier of rubber tracks, undercarriage parts and other associated spare parts for earthmoving machinery, SPS has been servicing the UK construction industry for more than 20 years.

Richard Paterson, Astrak UK's Managing Director, said the acquisition of SPS is a "perfect fit" to the current business model and "represents an exciting step forward for us in our journey to excellence".

"It will allow us to consolidate our position in the market and offer a greater depth to our already comprehensive parts and service offering. We are proud to have been able to acquire such a reputable company in our market sector," he added.

"Likewise, with the tracks and undercarriage product range being supplied by Astrak going forward, customers will enjoy a greatly increased product and service offering from Astrak's network of four UK stocking points.

"This enthusing move forward will mean that Rhinox Group and Astrak are in an enhanced position to give customers of all sizes an unrivalled level of service in this ever changing and challenging world."

Established in 2008, Kirkcaldy-based Astrak UK has quickly grown to market leader in the crawler undercarriage market in the UK, offering a full range of excavator and dozer undercarriage parts for almost every machine in the market place, including track adjusters and final drives. With full UK coverage and four stocking locations, Astrak's focus on maximising machine uptime ensures replacement parts are available anywhere in the UK in the shortest possible delivery time.
