Interserve has won a £10 million contract extension with The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Ltd.
The company will erect a total of 8,800-seater complex steel frame grandstands over the next five years for one of the world's best-known annual military events at Edinburgh Castle.
Since 2013, the company has been responsible for building, dismantling and storing the spectator seating.
Designed as a permanent steel trussed structure and formally passed by the local council when completed, the grandstand features aluminium seating and decking. Complex safety checks are carried out on the structure both once built and when dismantled. VIP and technical suites plus performer units in the form of cabins are also built, together with approximately forty under-stand units including toilets and other facilities.
As part of the deal, Interserve will provide facilities management services for the electrical and mechanical aspects of the run-up concerts and main event.
Martin Smith, Divisional Director of Interserve said: "The continuation of our work on this highly prestigious project is great news for Interserve both in Scotland and nationally, demonstrating the breadth of our expertise. We're very proud to be associated with such a fine Scottish tradition."
Doug Cook OBE, Head of Operations, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, said: "The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Ltd is delighted to have been able to extend Interserve's contract for another five years. The company fully understands the unique challenges of this contract and our exacting requirements and has demonstrated an exemplar partnership approach."
