Work is to start on a new 'affordable' housing development in South Lanarkshire.
CCG will begin building 24 new homes for social rent at Belstane Gate in the north of Carluke. The project is to be completed within a 46-week programme.
Designed by the council's in-house Design Team, the Belstane Gate scheme will be built using CCG's OSM closed panel timber system. This method will help speed up the construction programme and is complete with windows, doors, insulation, and service zones. In addition, the system has the added benefit of solar photovoltaic panels, while the homes will be greatly energy efficient ensuring long-term energy savings.
Calum Murray, Director of CCG, said: "We have a strong track record working with local authorities across Scotland to help increase the quality and quantity of the country's social housing stock. These new houses will be in high demand, particularly amongst families due to the development's location close to the local primary school.
"We look forward to getting our work off the ground at Belstane Gate, and to working with South Lanarkshire Council over the coming months to further develop our business proposition in this part of the country."
Annette Finnan, the Council's Head of Housing Services, added: "This development of 24 new family homes in Carluke is the latest phase in South Lanarkshire Council's Home+ programme. With generous space standards and high-quality kitchens and bathrooms, the new homes incorporate renewable technologies such as solar panels, ensuring energy efficient homes.
"Designed by South Lanarkshire Council's in-house Design Team and built with the support of Scottish Government Grant funding the development will deliver much needed affordable homes in the area."
