Up to 40 new apprentice places have been created by a £60 million regeneration project in Glasgow.
CCG is delivering the final 206 homes on the 540-home Anderston Regeneration scheme in the city. The project, which is being built in partnership with Sanctuary Scotland, is set to be complete by April 2018.
With this phase alone featuring 20 apprentices on site across joinery, bricklaying and plumbing trades, Sanctuary Homes's senior development manager Eleanor Derbyshire said Apprenticeships "help to build capacity within the construction industry".
"It's great to see the apprentices on site, growing in confidence," she said.
"They also get an opportunity to study. Once they're qualified the apprentices can move on to other opportunities. Apprenticeships help to build capacity within the construction industry. This is important for Sanctuary and other organisations as we build more homes and meet the needs of our communities."
Billy McGill, CCG's project manager, added: "Around 40 apprentices have come through the ranks at Anderston. Some of them have returned to work on the project as fully qualified tradespeople.
"Our apprentices are trained very well and learn all aspects of their trade. This stands them in good stead long term and is a win-win for CCG and the apprentices. Without Sanctuary's investment and CCG's construction these young people wouldn't be in the position they are in today.
"Sanctuary's input in conjunction with CCG is replenishing the industry throughout, both here in Glasgow and elsewhere."
