Work is to start on a £530,000 road resurfacing scheme in the Highlands.
BEAR Scotland will begin repairing the A82 between Fort Augustus and Invermoriston from Wednesday, 07 June.
The scheme involves resurfacing over 3km of carriageway to establish a smoother surface and safer journeys for road users.
Work will take place over 17 nights between 7pm – 5am, Sunday nights to Friday mornings, with no work scheduled to take place on Friday or Saturday nights. Traffic management and diversions will be in place.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland's Representative for the North West, said: "We're carrying out over £530,000 of improvements to the A82 which will greatly improve the condition of the road, making it more resilient during the winter months and much smoother and safer.
"We've designed the scheme to take place overnight to minimise the impact to motorists and will be avoiding working on Friday and Saturday nights. We've also arranged the traffic management to allow the A82 to remain open to light vehicles. We've also noted the bus times and will make sure that arrangements are on site to ensure the buses can safely pass through the improvements with minimal disruption.
"Unfortunately there will be a diversion for HGVs only, which will be signed in advance, and we've reached out to hauliers and the RHA to make them aware of the overnight restrictions.
"We would encourage road users to plan their journey in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date journey information."
