A series of road works are to begin on the M73 motorway as part of the M8 M73 M74 motorway improvements programme.
The southbound motorway will close from 8pm on Friday, 26 May until 8am on Saturday, 27 May. The route will also shut at 8pm on Saturday until 6am on Monday, 29 May. Diversions will be in place.
In addition, the M73 northbound will be closed for four nights between junction 1 Maryville and junction 2 Baillieston from 8pm – 6am on Sunday, 28 May until Wednesday, 31 May. Signed diversions will be in place.
Elsewhere, the M73 southbound link road will shut for three nights between M73 southbound to the M74 southbound. Closures will take place between 8pm - 6am each night from Monday, 29 May until Wednesday, 31 May. Diversions will be in place.
The A721 on-slip to the M74 southbound will also close for four nights from Sunday 28 May until Wednesday 31 May. Work will take place between 8pm – 6am each night, with diversions in place.
Transport Scotland Project Sponsor Graeme Reid said: “These essential works on the M73 southbound this Sunday will lead to delays on this busy stretch of motorway and we would ask road users to plan their journeys in advance and avoid the area if possible.
"Transport Scotland and our contractor Scottish Roads Partnership are working to remove restrictions as soon as possible, with these works allowing the new and improved roads to open soon."
