Industry consultant Turner & Townsend (T&T) has formed a new construction partnership with Stirling High School.

The two-year Design Engineer Construct! (DEC) programme will provide 20 students the chance to gain an insight into various careers such as surveying, architecture, engineering, construction management, sustainability management and more.

Academic subjects will be applied to the latest industry practices, giving young people real-world practical experience and employability skills.

Paul Cassidy, Stirling High School Headteacher, said: "This is an exciting development of our curriculum at Stirling High School that will enable our young people to develop their knowledge and skills. We have been working with Class of Your Own to establish a partnership with Turner& Townsend.

"The school is fortunate to be in partnership with a company of such a high quality as Turner & Townsend. This will benefit our young people in creating the opportunity for them to gain real-life experience of the world of work."

Suzanne Graham, Director at T&T, added: "Turner & Townsend is delighted to have the opportunity to enhance the curriculum for young people studying at Stirling High School. We are looking forward to the new academic year and cannot wait to start our learning journey with pupils.

"The Adopt a School Programme will provide opportunities for pupils to learn about all aspects of the construction industry and how their working and living environments are built. We hope to inspire both girls and boys to realise their potential for a career in the construction industry."
