Other major schemes set to become operational include the Queensferry Crossing, the M8 M73 M74 Motorway Improvements Project and NHS Dumfries and Galloway's Acute Services Redevelopment Project.

Speaking during a visit to the site of the £14.6 million Inverurie health care hub, Economy Secretary Keith Brown said "significant progress" continues to be made in delivering the Government's infrastructure investment plan.

"I am delighted that projects totalling almost £800 million were completed last year, and that this year we are anticipating a further £2.8 billion worth of infrastructure projects being completed and becoming operational including the Queensferry Crossing," he said.

"I look forward to seeing these projects come to completion, but also seeing Scottish companies continuing to benefit from this government's record levels of infrastructure investment in the years to come."
