A new engineering framework worth £17 million a year has been launched in Scotland.
Scotland Excel's second generation Engineering and Technical Consultancy Framework will be used to help local authorities source specialist engineering and technical consultancy services.
A total of 27 suppliers have secured places on the four-year framework in the following lots:
• Road and structures
• Transportation and traffic
• Environmental engineering
• Land surveying
• Drainage and flooding
• Geotechnical and testing
• Project management
In addition, the scheme offers a range of additional benefits, including apprentice, graduate and work placement positions. Advice sessions and workshops are also available for school pupils and college students.
Julie Welsh, Director of Scotland Excel, said: "Scottish councils regularly require specialist engineering and technical services in order to plan and implement the wide range of investment projects and improvement works that are delivered within their communities. Forthcoming works that this contract can support include the multi-million pound City Deal projects."
