Work on a £111,000 library redevelopment scheme in West Dunbartonshire is now complete.

The scheme at Balloch Library has involved improvements to the interior and exterior, as well as digital upgrades. Features include the front entrance of the library being redesigned for improved access and installing a new public toilet. New floor coverings and redecorations have also been installed throughout.


The project was part funded by the council (£73,000), while the Wheatley Group contributed £38,000 along with Scottish Government Partnership funding towards the new Click and Connect digital learning centre.

Cllr Michelle McGinty said: "The newly refurbished library now provides a fantastic, modern setting where residents can relax, read and research. The new Click and Connect Centre will help residents to access online training and courses as well as employment opportunities.

"It is important for all residents to have online access to keep up to date and take advantage of modern technology and I would like to thank Wheatley Group for their support in opening this service in Balloch."
