Work on a £2 million school refurbishment project in East Dunbartonshire is now complete.

The scheme was carried out at Holy Family Primary in Lenzie.

Features included essential structural repairs to the Boghead Road building alongside significant refurbishment work.

As part of the project, pupils and staff moved into the former Lairdsland Primary School building in Kirkintilloch to allow works to be carried out.


Speaking during a visit to the school last week, Council Leader Rhondda Geekie said: "I would like to thank pupils, parents and staff for their support and co-operation during the decant period.

"The extent of the essential works was such that to ensure everyone's safety and to get the work done as quickly as possible, a decant was the only option."

Parent Council Chair, Samantha MacLean, added: "By working closely with the children, school staff and the Parent Council, East Dunbartonshire Council has ensured that the internal building is safe, up to date, bright and welcoming. We would like to say thanks to all involved for their support in getting our children home to a wonderful environment."
