City Gate Construction Appoints New Director

City Gate Construction (CGC) has appointed Robert Menzies as a Director of the business.

As a well known figures in the Scottish construction sector, Mr Menzies has worked as a Commercial Manager at CGC for the last two years.

He is the former a Managing Director (MD) of all-trades firm Laidlaw Scott, which after being bought by the Mears Group, saw Mr Menzies assume the role of MD in Scotland.

The appointment comes during a period of growth for CGC, which revealed last year it had expanded into England having completed a large scale student accommodation project in Bradford, West Yorkshire. A new office has also been established in Preston and last summer a further base was unveiled in Ayr.

Leo Reilly, Managing Director of CGC said: "This is an important appointment for the business. Robert brings huge expertise and professionalism to the role in addition to his unrivalled connections within construction and the wider business community.

"In addition to becoming a Director his brief to look after the commercial activities of the business will continue."
