A total of 34 new apprentices have started their training and will learn new skills in areas such as electrical, joinery, roofing, plastering, plumbing, painting, horticulture, roadworks and more.

Council Leader John McGinty said the programme is a "fantastic opportunity" for apprentices to learn valuable skills.
"Our Modern Apprenticeship programme has huge advantages for all parties, including safeguarding jobs, developing young people to have a genuine and long lasting career path," he said.
"West Lothian Council is dedicated to helping young people gain work placements which is why our apprenticeship programme now also includes non-traditional modern apprenticeships as well as traditional apprenticeships."
