Clark Contracts is continuing work on a £2.73 million redevelopment project in East Dunbartonshire.
The company is working to transform Kilmardinny House in Bearsden into a new venue to support local arts, conferences, weddings and other events.
The extension has been designed by Mast Architects and involves the Category A-listed House being partially refurbished internally and externally. Other features include:
• New platform lift
• Stonework repairs
• Refurbishment of windows
• Renewal of radiators
In addition, the new garden pavilion extension will be built to act as a centre for local arts, performance and community groups.
The scheme is being delivered in partnership with hub West Scotland East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture (EDLC) Trust, which is providing £250,000 towards the project.
Cllr Alan Moir said: "Work is moving ahead on Kilmardinny House and there are exciting times ahead. This significant investment in one of our key local assets will benefit both Bearsden and East Dunbartonshire.
"Kilmardinny House is one of this area's most iconic buildings and I am pleased we are working with our partners to transform it into a new venue for conferences, weddings, arts and other events."
Chair of the EDLC Trust. Cllr Anne Jarvis, added: "I am delighted that works are moving ahead at Kilmardinny House. The aim is to breathe new life into the facility - making it fit for the 21st century.
"The project will help us to continue supporting a diverse range of arts, culture and leisure services, while making Kilmardinny a sought-after venue for events, weddings and conferences."
The facility is due to open to the public this spring.
