Inverclyde residents are being invited to voice their views on a draft Local Housing Strategy for the region.
The document sets out housing and services will be delivered over the next five years.
Six comprehensive objectives have been identified between the council and partners;
• To promote a supply of good quality, affording housing
• To ensure that Inverclyde has sustainable, attractive and well-designed communities with well-functioning town centres
• To prevent homelessness where possible through support to meet the needs of individuals
• To ensure that people are able to live independently for as long as possible in their own homes and communities
• To tackle fuel poverty and to contribute to meeting climate change targets and to improve stock condition across all sectors.
Cllr Terry Loughran said: "Every council must produce a five year strategy for local housing in the area which considers all of the big issues relating to our homes and people living in them. It sets out our approach to meeting our housing responsibilities such as tackling fuel poverty, poor conditions and homelessness and will act as a guide for the future use of land in Inverclyde.
"People have already told us about the issues they believe are important and this consultation is an opportunity for comments on how we plan to deliver these improvements over the next five years."

The closing date for responses is 05 January 2017.
