Transport Scotland To Fund New A68 Crossing For Earlston

Transport Scotland is to fund the construction of a new safe push button pedestrian crossing on the A68 for Earlston.

Once detailed designs for the project and other features are complete, these will be made available to the public. It is expected the facility will be built by spring/summer 2017.

Scottish Borders Cllr, David Parker, said: "It has taken ten years of hard work to persuade Transport Scotland to invest in a pedestrian crossing and it is fantastic news for Earlston that it has been secured and will be in place next year. As well as the new pedestrian crossing, other measures will be put in place to reduce the speed of motorists on the A68 through Earlston."
