Construction News Image
Work is to begin on a £650,000 roads investment programme in Ayrshire.

Scotland TranServ will start upgrading the A77 at three locations from Friday, 21 October.

Around two miles of the route will be resurfaced to benefit around 4,000 vehicles which use the road each day.

The works will be delivered via three major schemes over a 21-day period at the following locations:

• A77 Bridgemill to Girvan Mains – 24-hour working from 8.00pm on Friday, 21 October until 6.00am on Monday, 24 October

• A77 Ardwell – 24-hour working from 8.00pm on Friday, 28 October until 6am on Monday, 31 October.

• A77 Minnybae – 24-hour working from 8pm on Friday, 04 November until 6am on Monday, 07 November.

Scotland TranServ's operating company representative, Andy Fraser, said: "This significant investment will ensure that the A77 is maintained to a good standard and can withstand the impact of the 4,000 vehicles which travel on this route each day.

"We have made every effort to programme these works over the shortest period of time, therefore reducing disruption to road users; however motorists particularly those use the ferry ports should plan their journeys accordingly."
