Kier has selected Spie UK to carry out multi-technical services at a new learning campus development in North Ayrshire.
The £7 million contract will see the contractor deliver mechanical and electrical (M&E) works for the 17,000 m3 Garnock Community Campus.
Designed by jmarchitects, the facility will accommodate 1,200 secondary school, 260 primary school, and 45 early-years students once completed in December.
Spie's range of works involve installing a Low Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) heating system, sanitary ware, LV switchgear, lighting and power, ventilation, fire alarms and security systems.
Will Smith, Managing Director of Multi-Technical Services Scotland at SPIE UK, said: "The collaborative work ethos adopted by Kier and the design team right from the start, has ensured smooth and rapid progression from the design stage through to construction.
"The thought-process followed in creating an open and light learning environment has given all teams the confidence to utilise key elements of the build as features, for instance, the exposed concrete, steel and services. All of these add to the architect's original vision for a contemporary learning environment."
Ryan Broadley, contracts manager for Kier Construction Scotland, added: "The Garnock Community Campus is a flagship project for Kier Construction Scotland and we are delighted to be teaming up with SPIE again following a successful partnership on South Lanarkshire Schools."
