Work Continues On £16m SSE Wind Farm Development

Construction News Image
Work is continuing on a £16 million SSE wind farm development near Inverness.

Engineers have now completed erecting 23 out of the 33 turbines due to be installed at the Dunmaglass Wind Farm site.

Turbine deliveries began in May this year and are expected to continue until early Autumn 2016.

Ross Cowie, Dunmaglass Site Construction Manager said: "Being our highest wind farm means that, although there are many benefits like great views and strong winds, there are also some downsides when it comes to construction, particularly when the Scottish weather isn't in our favour.

"The past few weeks have given us a great opportunity to get some more turbines up safely and means that we are now we only have ten more to go.

"Hopefully the weather will be kind to us over the coming weeks so we can get ready to celebrate the next milestone – all the turbines being built."

The development is predicted to become fully operational in early 2017.
