A £270,000 improvement project has been completed at a country club in West Lothian.

The six-figure investment was made by the Muir Group at its Deer Park country club and golf course in Livingston.

A total of £100,000 was allocated towards redecorating the clubhouse, while £90,000 was use to upgrade the golf course and purchase maintenance equipment. In addition, £80,000 was spent on purchasing new gym equipment.


The project has been carried out ahead of the EMTEC Deer Park Masters tournament, which will see over 70 Scottish construction businesses and professional golfers play on the revamped course this week.

Deer Park General Manager Stuart Cruickshank said: "This is a huge boost for the local community. It's wonderful to see not only the investment in the golf course, but also to the entire country club which includes a swimming pool, spa, gym, bowling centre, restaurant and much more."

Muir Group founder and chairman John Muir added: "All these improvements have our members in mind. These changes gear the golf club up for the future and the tournament is a great way to kick-off Deer Park's new era."
