Fife Council has announced it will invest over £225 million to improve council housing over the next three years.
The announcement was made during a local authority meeting on Tuesday, 23 March.
Every council home in the region is now understood to be fully compliant with the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS).
Fife Council said this investment will help ensure it maintains this standard, as well as helping to deliver the new Energy Efficient Standard for Social Housing (EESSH).
A range of improvements have already been completed, including:
• New bathrooms and kitchens
• Replacing windows and doors
• Installing new central heating systems
In addition, maintenance work has been carried out to roofs and door entry systems, roughcast, heating and electrical systems while energy efficiency works have also been completed.
Over £76m will be spent on wider investment works next year, including improvements to Retirement Housing in Cardenden and Lochgelly. Over £28m will be spent on further upgrades to ensure all houses continue to meet energy efficiency standards.
It is estimated around 85% of the council's homes currently meet new energy efficiency standards.
Cllr Judy Hamilton said: "We invested over £70 million last year to make this happen. These improvements are funded from rent money raised from our tenants and we talk and listen to our tenants to ensure that we are delivering on their priorities.
"We're proud of the progress being made here in Fife and these improvements will make real differences for tenants across Fife as well as allow us to offer warmer, drier, healthier homes."
