Construction work on the Third Don Crossing project has resumed following the death of a worker last week.

Ian Walker, 58, from Dundee, was killed in an accident at the construction site in Aberdeen on Wednesday, 13 January.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 4:45pm. However, Mr Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.


Work was halted while an investigation into the accident was carried out by the Health and Safety Executive.

A spokesperson for contractors Balfour Beatty said workers were given a full briefing on the site before construction resumed, except for the area where the incident happened, on Monday, 13 January.

Work on the Third Don Crossing began in August 2014 and is due to be completed in spring 2016.
