Inverclyde Council is to invest £180,000 on improvements to a popular play park.

The site is located in Greenock's West End on the corner of Fox Street and Newton Street.

The council will upgrade the park and install a high quality multi-use games area (MUGA) measuring 15 metres by 24 metres.


Councillor Jim Clocherty said: "This is a hugely popular park – known locally as the annexe – and a few years ago we were able to replace the grass football pitch.

"But this was always going to be a temporary measure until we found the money to install a MUGA and improve the play apparatus for local children.

"Having modern, state-of-the-art facilities is key to improving the health of our communities and attracting families to move into the area."
