An outdoor play park has opened in Whinhall, Larnarkshire.

The £144,000 project was funded by the council including Airdrie Local Area Partnership with a grant of £50,000 from WREN's FCC Community Action Fund.

Features include an informal bike track, a large multi activity unit, a cable runway, a swing frame with two flat seats plus a basket seat, a wheelchair accessible roundabout, springers, a seesaw and picnic tables.


A trampoline and swingbay with cradle seats are also set to be installed in the coming weeks.

Councillor Jim Logue said: "This project was delivered in partnership with Whinhall Action Group, CultureNL Play Services and North Lanarkshire Council and now local children and the wider community have the play area they deserve and one they can rightly be proud of."
