The Highland Council has announced the completion of repairs to a pathway for a beauty spot in the region.

The steps from Rosemarkie beach up to the old 'High' path leading to Caird's Cave have been restored by the council's access team.


Previously the wooden handrail had decayed along with the concrete steps which became damaged.

Improvements include new metal handrails and were completed by local contractor GG MacKenzie.

Councillor Jennifer Barclay said: "The community has worked hard to make Rosemarkie a welcome and vibrant community and this excellent project by the Council’s Access Officer to restore the steps will make a huge difference to everyone who loves this beauty spot."
