Repairs are scheduled to take place overnight from Monday 25 until Friday 29 May 2015 between 10am - 6am.
Works are being carried out due to a landslip on the embankment in November 2014.
Gordon Wilson, Contract Director for Scotland TranServ, said: "The safety of the local community, motorists and our workforce is of the utmost priority and it is vital that we carry out these works to ensure the route is safe.

"We fully understand the importance of the A77 to over 3,000 motorists who travel through the area each day and are doing everything we can to improve the long term resilience of this route."
A diversion will be in place throughout the works.
A77 traffic travelling northbound will be diverted south from Cairnryan, then east via the A751 to the A75 to Newton Stewart, then northbound on the A714 to re join the A77 at Girvan.
Southbound traffic will follow the same direction in reverse.
