The residents of Glasgow are being invited to an information day at Alexandra Park to hear about planned improvement works.
The event will take place Saturday 14 March between 10:00 and 14:00.
Works will include heritage refurbishment work to the Saracen Fountain and the Cruikshank Cherub, a B-listed cast iron fountain dating from 1880.
The duck pond, a 'Site Important to Nature Conservation', will receive habitat management, while tree management will also be carried out to ensure more stable and long term tree cover in the park.
Repairs to the park's footpaths, gates and access points will also be undertaken and there are plans to introduce more inclusive children's play facilities.
Cllr Alistair Watson, Executive Member for Land and Environmental Services, said: "Glasgow's parks are an integral part of our city and we are committed to their upkeep. Given the popularity of Alexandra Park and the scale of these works we recognise the importance of engaging with the local community and making sure that the public have an opportunity to get involved.
"I'm sure that there will be a lot of interest in these proposals that will enhance and revitalise a much loved public space."
The park takes its name from Princess Alexandra, the wife of the future King Edward VII, who officially opened the park in 1870. Between 1867 and 1868, during the great trade depression, several hundred unemployed artisans and labourers found work in the formation and laying-out of the park.
Tomorrow's information day will provide an opportunity for the public to become involved in the plans for the park, speak to officers regarding the works and view detailed displays of the proposals.
