Aberdeenshire Council has carried out inspection works at Deveron Bridge.

It is understood that repair works will need to be carried out to the structure.

On Sunday (8 February), a car collided with the side of the bridge, and following a site visit by structural engineers it will now be decided how the stonework should be repaired. The two parapets on the bridge were affected by the collision, with the structural integrity of one said to be "particularly compromised".


Initial works to stablise the structure has been carried out, but the council has said full repair works will be undertaken when river levels allow the erection of a working platform. Traffic restrictions are currently in place.
