New Homes Completed In Tarbert

Eight new properties have been completed by Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) in Oakfield, Tarbert.

The development is a mix of one- and two-bedroom homes.

M&K MacLeod was the appointed contractor for the scheme, which took more than a year to complete, at a value of just over £1m. Financial contributions were provided from the Scottish Government, ACHA and Argyll and Bute Council.


The homes were opened by retired Sheltered Housing warden and housing volunteer Sandra MacKenzie.

Alastair MacGregor, ACHA Chief Executive, also attended the opening. He said: "To have Sandra carrying out this opening in her home village in a community where she gave so much to housing and caring is fully warranted.

"I have known Sandra for 10 years and in that time I would simply describe her as a Housing Hero. Unstinting service to her tenants and others, and she has also been a hardworking voluntary Committee member dedicated to helping those in housing need."
