A public consultation is to be held regarding the future development of Callendar Woods in Falkirk.
The events, which are being organised by Forestry Commission Scotland, will allow the local community to comment on a 10-year Land Management Plan which is currently being drafted. It outlines a vision of the forest in the future and will be on display for people to view and comment.
The events will be held on:
• Friday 13 February at The Howgate, Falkirk, from 11am to 3pm
• Saturday 14 February at Callendar House, Falkirk, from 11am to 3pm
• Monday 16 February at Hallglen Sports Centre, Falkirk, from 5pm to 7pm.
Councillor Adrian Mahoney, Falkirk Council's spokesperson for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, said: "The Council welcomes the Forestry Commission Scotland's ongoing, long-term commitment to Callendar Woods by the preparation of a draft 10 year land management plan.
"Callendar Woods is an important space at the heart of many local communities around Falkirk. The woodland is also a backdrop people visiting Callendar House and Park as well as those walking the new John Muir Way which passes through through the Woods.
"I would encourage anyone with an interest in Callendar Woods to try to get along to one of the consultation events and share their views."
Community Ranger Gordon Harper added: "We're really keen to get feedback from as many people as possible about our proposed plans for Callendar Woods. We're looking forward to talking to members of the community and hear what they would like to see in their local woods."
